The Order of Time
Direct from its world premiere at the 2023 Venice International Film Festival, The Order of Time is an all-star ensemble drama about the reality of time and the meaning of life, featuring Alessandro Gassmann, Claudia Gerini, Edoardo Leo and Angela Molina.
Like every year, a group of long-term friends meet in a seaside villa to celebrate a birthday. One evening at their annual get-together, they discover that there may be only a few hours left before the end of the world. From that moment on, the time that separates them from the possible end of the world seems to flow differently, as it moves both fast and eternal. Over the course of a summer night their lives will be changed forever.
Loosely inspired by the bestselling physics novel by Carlo Rovelli, The Order of Time marks the return of director Liliana Cavani (Ripley’s Game, The Night Porter) who received a Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at this year’s Venice International Film Festival.

DIRECTOR: LILIANA CAVANI
Born in 1933, Liliana Cavani is a film director and screenwriter. She became internationally known after the success of her 1974 feature The Night Porter and in addition to feature films and documentaries, has also directed opera. The Order of Time is her first feature film in over twenty years.
